A Sad, Pathetic Little "Man"

Just a short note:  feo is not banned from this blog.  That's the first thing that needs to be said.   I am more than willing to engage with those of disparate positions and opinions and to provide the opportunity for such to fully present them.  That's never been a problem for me.  I welcome it more than agreement with the like-minded.

But feo isn't willing to engage.  From his first visit to this blog, he's done little more than assert, condescend, insult and attack, all without a shred of supporting evidence.  This is a guy who claims a vast educational background including seminary training.  His demeanor, prideful, arrogant and as I said, condescending, belies any claims of Christian devotion.  And like Dan, his support for sexual immorality and the murder of innocents also suggests otherwise.  As such, he has long since worn out his welcome as if his only goal is to be banned outright and with extreme prejudice.

But feo doesn't get to call the shots here.  Instead, he now has very strict guidelines for maintaining his welcome.  From this point forward, be it commenting on this post, or any future or past post, he is now required to be the kindest, most gracious and humble visitor to this blog.  No insults, no condescension, no arrogance, no profane or obscene talk or words of any kind.  The standards his ongoing, unrepentant behavior has invited has put him in a very special and unique category.  He must maintain these high standards even in the face of direct and purposeful attack and provocation directed at him by absolutely anyone else.  Any comment he posts that is in breach of these standards will result in the deletion of the comment as soon as I read it.

To all others, know that should you respond to a comment by feo that is anything less than saintly in tone, it may appear to be speaking to no one after feo's comment is deleted.  I may even delete your response as well, just for the sake of clarity.

feo needs to believe that I delete his comments because I'm afraid of the "facts" he presents, even though he doesn't post facts, or what he posts has no relevance to the topic.  And that's another standard he must uphold.  He is not free to commandeer a thread as he tries to do with too much frequency.  He is free to request that I cover a topic, but he is not free to go off on tangents or to attempt to start a new discussion unrelated to the topic at hand.

I've always maintained that it isn't so much name-calling that's a problem in today's culture.  It's the unjustified name-calling.  That is, as an example, feo constantly calling me a racist without ever...EVER having offered even one bit of evidence in support of the charge.  Opposing, say, affirmative action policy, Barack Obama's presidency or rioting by blacks after a black thug is killed while committing a crime, is not evidence of racism in the least.  BUT, feo is allowed to say, in the nicest way possible (as judged by me), "I think your position is racist, and here's why..." which is likely to begin a legitimate back and forth (until he reverts to his usual prideful and hateful ways).

As I type this, feo may well be posting his usual hateful drivel.  Those comments are not long for this blog.  I'm suggesting there will never again be a comment of feo's that does not get deleted, because he doesn't have the character to act as if he actually has the character of a Christian.   If anyone wants to start a pool, let me know here.

Marshall, you are truly patient. Much more than me.

It's clear that Feo doesn't actually know how to engage with tolerance and respect for someone who claims to follow Christ to demonstrate so little of anything Christlike is actually quite impressive.

Part of the problem might be that Feo lives in the world of a 12 year old boy where fart jokes are the highest form of comedy.

Art,
You border on sainthood to allow that pathetic little man to remain un-banned.

Not unexpectedly, feo couldn't resist the urge to play the victim and in his typical nasty way. Among his deleted comments was the first swipe pretending I don't know how short a short note should be. The short note was simply that he wasn't banned. What an idiot.

Then he goes on with the lie that I delete facts he posts. Not at all. I've acknowledged facts he posted that weren't in contention, such as the drop in crime rate he continually cites despite that fact not proving or supporting his contention that either Bill deBlasio or Obama were responsible for it. Other "facts" of his are not facts at all, but more assertions, such as the assertion that I delete fact or the assertion that I am ignorant of history. While I may be ignorant of some historical facts, he has an unbroken steak of proving I'm ignorant of anything that counters my positions.

He then goes on to say that he and Dan "call the shots on what makes it interesting", meaning this blog. Interesting to feo, perhaps, but I post what interests me. Should it appeal to others is bonus. That it has no appeal to feo even more so, but his constant visits contradict that possibility. He presence here confirms my posts are of interest to him as well.

BTW, for all his faults, Dan doesn't seem to me to be intentionally going off on tangents simply because he's trying to use my blog to post his own preferred topics. He has his own blog for that and I visit it to see what he's up to. I don't know if feo has a blog and based on his drivel here I'm not sure I'd much care to read it. Maybe I'll investigate at some point and go there and whine about stuff that isn't true as he does here.

Finally, he claims that he calls me names because I called him names. But again, it isn't the name calling, but name calling without reasonable explanation. That feo's a dope or a dork (feodope/feodork) is justified by what precedes or follows the use of the terms. I don't use them simply because he doesn't like my positions. But as I said, from his first visit to the blog, he's been nothing less than arrogant, self-promoting and insulting to those of us who do not share his racist, hateful and anti-Christian attitudes and positions. HE likes to pretend he's taking his cues about how to behave from us. Even assuming that it's true we've provoked such a response, for one who wants to posture himself as some sort of superior being, he is obliged to act the part at all times or drop the pretense. I now drop it for him by deleting his every comment that fails to abide the standards and guidelines his own behavior demands. Those standards are the consequence of his behavior.

To Neil and Glenn,

I find no great effort in allowing him to remain, even if I end up taking the time to delete his comments. I remain open to the possibility that he might actually have something intelligent to say and consider and welcome whatever that might be should such a thing actually occur to him. Indeed, I think it may be more work to ban him. I'm not even sure how it is done on Blogger, which is why I considered moving to Wordpress...a process I began but did not complete. He's just another lost soul and I'm just a regular guy who likes to give him a hard time so long as he prefers to act like a prick. He needs our prayers as much as anyone does. He also needs counseling.

With blogspot all you can do is moderate and delete his comments when they come to your email. Delete without even looking at them. That's how I banned Dan.

That's not what I'm looking to do, Glenn. As I said, if he has something substantive to add to a conversation, and can do that without his bad attitude, he's welcome to do so. Even someone like feo might have something of value to contribute. I doubt it will happen, and there's no history to support the possibility that it will, but I didn't think Trump would ever be the GOP candidate and look what happened. Of course feo acting like a humble gentleman is not nearly as likely I fear.

Wondering if Feo is a big Donna Hylton fan and if he enjoyed her speech at the march. I'm sure Dan thought she was great.

I'm wondering why feo insists on continuing his childish attempts to comment on his terms rather than mine. One would think that someone whose constant self-regard is of a moral and intellectual superiority would have the courage and ability to prove it by playing by house rules. Now, I don't believe any of that is either true or possible, as his superiority is as yet "unsubstantiated" given that he's provided no evidence of that any more than he has provided any to support any other claim he's posited here. It's as if he actually wants to be deleted. That may indeed be his best course of action given that thus far he has proven that he "ain't got game". All those books...all that education...so sad.

I'm assuming that Fei's love and affection for Ms Hylton haven't been the subject of any of his deleted comments.

It's interesting that Feo apparently set up a blog so that he'd have the blogger identification, yet can't trouble himself to actually write any of this stuff there. It seems like he'd take the opportunity to put all of this amazingly convincing material out in its entirety and spin it as much as possible.

At least Dan has the spine to do something more than hide behind a fake name, and an empty blog. Feo just wants to occasionally slink out of the shadows and troll.

Craig said...

Sorry, auto correct doesn't like Feo and refuses to learn.

Marshall Art said...

You assumption is correct, Craig.

I don't mind so much the use of pen names, as obviously I use one myself (though my real name is not hard to find with just a click or two). There are legitimate reasons for using one. Wintery Knight doesn't provide access to his real identity, as he fears repercussions where he works or some such thing. These days, when defending conservatism and/or Christianity, people have lost their jobs. feo might fear someone might come looking for him. Personally, he's not worth the time. He's just an annoyance. An annoyance because he's not interested in really saying anything worthy of listening nor is he interested in really listening to others, being too arrogant for such acts of consideration.

Just a note: There's really no reason for feo to post any comments at all on this thread. The important thing to remember is how he chooses to post any comment on any thread in the future (be in a future post or one already in existence). This post was intended only to set the terms and the reasons for needing those terms, and not an invitation to discuss those terms or reasons for needing them.

Craig said...

MA, perhaps he just doesn't realize that his comments bear no relationship to the thread.

Marshall Art said...

Craig,

There is much that feo doesn't realize. That's so very much the problem. He likes to believe I'm running away from his topic. But that's just another thing he fails to realize...because he's nowhere near the intellectual he likes to pretend he is, nor is he more intelligent than anyone else who posts here....which is that he doesn't get to establish a new topic simply because he feels like it. That's what his own blog is for. But until I choose to post on a topic where his "challenges" might be appropriate, I am not here to feed his over-inflated ego or enable his bad behavior.

Then again, he might simply enjoy being deleted.

Craig: "MA, perhaps he just doesn't realize that his comments bear no relationship to the thread."

Ummm, Craig?, the thread is about me. So, my responses... pretty much centrally applicable to Fartshall's unraveling thread.
