Getting my feet wet

It will take a while to decide just how I want to do this blog thing. I'm not sure of how I want it to look. I don't really know exactly.

I don't know how I'm going to handle the comments, whether they'll be moderated, use that goofy word verification or what. I'm told spam can be a problem if I don't use some of the tools that, when posting at other blogs, have pissed me off. I'm also not sure of how I'll handle wackjobs who might visit and overstay their welcome. I'm inclined to let them spew their childish remarks, letting them prove to all who might read them what fools they really are. Then again, some may not return if such pathetic types are not reigned in. For now, I'm just going to see how it goes and adjust from there. Overall of course, I prefer mutual respect, but that doesn't preclude a little snarkiness now and again. Some of it is quite fun. I reserve the right to refuse admittance for any reason that strikes my fancy. Just remember, feet off the coffee tables.

Wow. I'm just not getting the jist of this bloggin stuff. There's a whole paragraph missing. If this is gonna be work, I'm not sure I can handle it.

Hey, while you were changing text color and such did you perhaps change the text to black? On a black background? Change it to white.

You didn't lose the whole paragraph. Just highlight that part. It will appear. You used black text on a black backgroud. Great start on your first post, by the way. You might want to let Dan and mudkitty know you have a blog.

Or you might not. If a troll who calls himself KEvron shows up, you will realize why I moderate comments.

DOH!!! Of course! Black on black, tough for viewing.

I've been Spam'd a few times... a few, but it's no big deal really. Just delete them.

Unless you enjoy torture, don't invite Mudkitty or Dan.

I believe the invitee list, according to the previous headline, was "one and all."

:-)

A lot of people--myself included--find white text on a black background hard to read.

Not that you want me reading, mind you.

Hi Marshall,
I recommend Haloscan... it's a very useful tool.

Mr. Art

I’ve enjoyed your comments on other blogs over the past few years, & look forward to your musings – may they be varied and bountiful!

Jay,

Of course I don't mind you reading, responding and generally diving in. Just no open sores in the pool, please.

As to the look of the blog, I'm as yet undecided. Your comments regarding white on black are noted. Thanks for the imput.

Tim, Blamin, welcome.

Hi Marsh,

Hope you can keep the blog thing going. Hope you link to blogs such as Sister Toldjah, Iowa Voice, Right from the Right, and especially Amy Proctor's blog. I think you'll find amyproctor.squarespace.com one link that will fit in well with what you've written here already.

Thanks, PCD, and welcome. I have to figure out how to link to begin with. From there, I'll likely spend time just doing that.
