More Than Just "A Little" Biased

One of Dan's nonsensical attacks on Trump is Trump's attacks on the press, and how anti-American and damaging to democracy it is for a sitting president to call out the press.  Despite Dan's ignoring of the facts I presented showing that his guy Obama was truly the malicious one in how he dealt with the press, Dan regards Trump's legitimate concern with blatant and hostile left-wing bias as somehow of greater concern.  He has provided no evidence that Obama's attacks worried him one bit, demonstrating that Dan is no better than those he defends.

In any case, I thought I'd provide some examples of liberal media bias and "fake news" that justifies Trump's criticisms, but also justifies the general mistrust of the media by the American people in general.  I doubt Dan will peruse these offerings, but at least he can't say no evidence exists that justifies those critiques and lack of trust.  Here ya go:

I really could have spent a lot more time gathering such stories.  These cover the issue from a variety of angles.  Personally,  I don't have a problem with a given news source deciding what story deserves its attention.  It would be great if they could be held to account when the general public finds out that their choices do not inform us in a manner that is most beneficial or informative (and truthfully so).  Fortunately, there are so many more sources available now than ever before.  But UNfortunately, this requires more diligence by the consumer to find sources that are trustworthy and dedicated to bringing news that is indeed most beneficial and informative (and truthfully so).

The bottom line for the purpose of this post is that Dan's concern that Trump is wacky and a liar for calling out the press and for lamenting the proliferation of "fake news" is no more than scraping for evidence with which to indict Trump.  The more Dan can find to demonize Trump, the better, because Dan embraces grace.

Count this as another area that Dan is completely wrong about Trump.

I guess pointing out that “fake news” about presidents (and presidents responding angrily) is a tradition that dates back to the Washington administration wouldn’t help.

You’ll note how thoroughly the similar link I posted at Dan’s was addressed in a specific and detailed manner, I’m sure he’ll do the same here.

Marshal Art said...

Clearly Dan isn't interested in admitting his attacks on Trump's "assault on the press" were misplaced and that he clearly erred in never so much as mentioning Obama's far more serious and tangible attacks.

Craig said...

Clearly there are several things Dan isn’t interested in. Admitting inconsistencies and answering inconvenient questions among them.

Here's your chance, Marshall. Denounce, loudly, clearly, strongly Trump's latest racist "shithole" comment. Tell him and his supporters that this can not stand.

Draw a line against vulgar racism and stand on the right side of that line.

Marshal Art said...

Before I don't, why don't you explain the context in which the comment was made, prove you understand what he meant by it and point to just one single person who answered the question he posed to them?

OR, you can just pretend you've vindicated your low opinion of Trump based on his choice of words. Words, that is, that I don't defend at all. But unlike haters like you, I go beyond mere words and look to context and intent.

And the leftist media provides little in the way of context to explain what was being said leading up to his "shithole" comment. One story said he was frustrated. From what I could glean, he was there to check out a proposal by Durbin and Graham that he found wanting.

The most glaring and expected response is the suggestion that Trump equates a country with the people who live there. Most of the third world countries ARE shitholes. It doesn't necessarily mean a thing about the people forced to live in them. But you hating bastards need Trump to be a racist. Objective people believe people who live in shithole countries suffer at the hands of those who run those countries. YOU insist on letting every one who claims to be a refugee from those countries come in with no rules.

So which is it, Dan? Are they shithole countries, or should we reject claims of escaping poverty and oppression by those who come here from there?

Vulgar racism my ass, you lying sack.

Isn’t it just like Dan to show up, make off topic demands, and act as if that’s appropriate. It’s even more amusing that someone who’s schtick is using vulgarity to describe other people gets so offended when vulgarity is used by others.

To reiterate, I’m not paying attention to his off topic demands until he does what he’s avoided for 2 months.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

The comment about "shitholes" was only about African nations run by socialist or Islamic thugs who have ruined their countries.

Craig said...

Glenn, I don’t know if you’re aware of it, but Haiti (which was mentioned specifically) is not in Africa. It’s in the Caribbean. Also, can anybody deny that North Korea really is...

What’s interesting is that 2017 was the year in which virtually ever measure of poverty was the best it’s been in the history of the world. A story about which we get almost zero coverage.

Off topic, I plan to look at the study and see if it breaks out where the Muslim countries stand.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

Craig,

Haiti was mentioned, but it was "Haiti and the shithole countries in Africa". So Haiti wasn't labeled "shithole."

Dan Trabue said...

You all will have to take it up with Bill Kristol, Paul Ryan and the many other conservatives who recognize this administration's racism for what it is and who have joined with the moral citizens of the world in condemning Trump's statements.

And Craig, look at you! Throwing shade on Glenn in your guess that he may be geographically illiterate.

I'd invite you all to join the right and moral side of history, but you appear comfortable in your beds you've already made and those racists you are sleeping with.

Instead, I'll pray for your eyes to be opened, your consciences to be stirred and your minds open to repentance.

I'll not come back to this post again as you three are committed deniers and liars. I'll only drop this two part truth bomb. Anyone who defends Trump is deplorable, a shithole him/herself, and morally corrupt. And since all three of you are all three of those, it is odd to me the hesitancy you all show agree with Trump. Glenn is bizarrely comforted by "saving" Haiti from the shithole grouping. A comfort he doesn't get from FOX who say they have four confirmations of Trump's words or Senator Durbin who was there. Marshall thinks Trump was irritated. Apparently he was also irritated two days before Christmas when he said all Haitians have AIDS (two separate confirmations that he said that).

Trump is a clear racist and has been for decades. He's said blacks are lazy, it's how they are made and they cannot change that. Adding that if people heard him say that he'd be in huge, huge trouble!

Just not with you guys... being as deplorable as anyone with your rhetoric and racism.
_________

Oh, and re Ms Borelli, Marshall, she lies. You love to hear her because you like lies, being a liar. Like when she lied about black unemployment under Trump.

Fact 1. Unemployment dropped at record levels under Obama from the height of the recession he stepped into to the end of his legitimate Presidency. ("The unemployment rate dropped to below the historical norm." "Unemployment has decreased at a record pace during Obama’s Presidency."

Fact 2. The gap between black and white unemployment remains the same. "While the unemployment rate for black Americans has dropped, the gap between white and black unemployment remains relatively unchanged. Over the years, the gap has maintained with black Americans holding twice the level of unemployment compared to white Americans. The new unemployment rate reveals that the gap is now at about 1.85 times higher for black Americans."

Rational conclusion: 1. Trump hasn't done anything to help workers, much less black workers, than be incapable of interfering with the continuing Obama recovery. Though this will no doubt come to an end under Trump: Carrier (after getting our tax dollars from Trump), AT&T, Comcast, Walmart, Pfizer, etc. are all laying off workers. Pfizer is cutting back on Alzheimer and Parkinson's research and letting 300 scientists go.

2. Trump, Ms. Borelli, and Mother Superior are sick in the head.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

Craig,

No it isn't. It is exactly what was said. Haiti was NOT noted as a shithole, only specific African countries. The point is to ensure accuracy of what was called by that name.

Craig said...

Glenn, I haven’t seen anything that suggests specific countries. So you may be correct.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

Craig,

The quote I read said that he spoke of "Haiti and the shithole countries in Africa". I was only making a point that the statement didn't include Haiti in the "shithole" designation. I've seen later stories where Trump claims he never used that term, that it was made up by the Democrats.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

What I find amusing with Trabue and Feobore is that everything with them is racist--which is typical for LEFTISTs who have no common sense.

I would say Haiti and all other 3rd world countries rundown by socialist and Muslim leaders are "hell-holes." Look at Venezuela--the epitome of socialism. Look at Somalia and other very poor African nations where people live in squalor because of their leadership (sort of like Detroit). They are indeed hell-holes. Saying so is not racist and has nothing to do with racism but LEFTISTS like Trabue and Feobore call it racist because they really don't know the meaning of the word. And the fact is, by the way, that Haiti does indeed have an epidemic of AIDS. So obviously LEFTISTS hate the truth and have to attack Trump for stating the obvious.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

There goes FEOLIAR again, the pathological liar always making false accusations. More proof that he worships Satan.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

Feo,

I guess you've never heard of hyperbole. When a huge percentage of a population has AIDS, hyperbole is useful. But you are not useful.

Feodor said...

I have heard of hyperbole. We just witnessed how my hyperbole offended you. If you were a real Christian you would have the empathy to understand how Trump’s hyperbole offends Haitians.

Further, you would have the sensitivity to know that the American Lresident cannot engage in senseless, offensive hyperbole and still be called a leader.

Further still, if you were a true Christian you would draw a bright moral line and call out Trump’s pattern of moral corruption and call for censorship in order to protect our reputation and role as a leader in human rights and democracy.

But you’re not a true Christian at any of those levels.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

FEO,

You don't use hyperbole -- you are too ignorant to even understand it. And I don't care if what Trump said offends Haitians; truth hurts but that doesn't mean the truth shouldn't be stated. Only LEFTISTs like you worry about offending people.

And if you weren't so stupid you'd know that the President is no more limited in using offensive hyperbole than anyone else is.

I am a true Christian. I haven't seen Trump having a pattern of moral corruption -- who is he corrupting? If you mean his history of immorality, well the Democrats have had immoral presidents who the LEFT never seems to have problems with - Clinton, Kennedy, Roosevelt, et al. The President does not represent Christianity so his moral failings are not an issue to me. You LEFTISTS preach moral anarchy and yet are upset when someone practices what you preach.

Trump isn't calling for censorship; He calls for the LEFTIST media to be reigned in with the propaganda being promoted as news, and he calls for stopping the printing of lies -- libel is not covered under the 1st Amendment.

You have no idea what a real Christian is because you are a false priest who worships satan.

3. Birtherism
4. Called Mexicans drug dealers
5. Ban on Muslims
6. Pardoned Joe Arpaio
7. Nazis are “very fine people”
8. Endorsed slave-supporter Roy Moore
9. Called black countries “shitholes”

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

None of that makes a person racist. YOU are the racist, and you have Trump derangement syndrome.

#l. Nothing to do with racism.

#2. Evidence please

#3. That isn't racism (you keep using that word - I don't think it means what you think it means), rather it is noting the fact that Obama was not qualified by nature of his birth nation. And it isn't racism -- Obama is just as much white as he is black, but racists like you don't want to acknowledge his white half.

#4 So he called the whole nation drug dealers? The ones he called drug dealers ARE drug dealers.

#5. Islam is not a race, fool.

#6. Pardoning a person makes one racist?!?!

#7, He never said that.

8. Roy Moore is not a slave supporter, but LEFTISTS like you twist what he said

Oh, and for #9, so everyone in those countries is black? And it isn't because there are blacks in those countries that they are hellholes, rather it is because of the government and the squalor the people are required to live in, but of course that is what socialism and Islam causes.

Your stupidity and ignorance know no bounds.

feo,

If you're going to make comparisons favoring the race you wish you were instead of the one you are, why not compare black immigrants to black Americans. I mean, you're all about playing the race card, right? According to Pew, the numbers are worse, to such an extent that if you remove the American black population from the equation, you'd likely find the numbers to be comparable. So now what, false priest? What other "facts" are you going to twist for us?

Don't bother. It's far too easy to correct your falsehoods, but not as easy as deleting them.

Feodor said...

One reason that black folks unemployment rate has kept up with falling white rates rather than the gap increasing even more is that under Obama more and more black students could stay in school and finish high school - a result of many of his policies but the Ed Dept Race Tina the Top among them, helping states keep their on the ball in education. But now a billionaire is dismantling the progress you want to see and we’re getting under Obama.

Suck on that Marshall, rather than your pills. It’s in the Bloomberg article above.

Also facts that white Americans respond better to black folks with an accent. Despite Trump’s hatred toward Haitians and Africans, white people romanticize even fantasize about Caribbean people and British English speaking Africans because we find that more palatable than African Americans who white people fantasize may want to hurt us.

So... black British English speakers get something of a discount in racist America.

This goes, generally, with much better education because the islands and the African nations Ave schools run by and taught by the people who invest everything in educating their children. We, living in a racist system, wharehouse public education.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

Feobore,

We didn't sell out our morals, nor did we care about his skin color (only the LEFT cares about skin color). The majority of us who voted for him were voting AGAINST Hillary Clinton, who would have been running the country as Satan incarnate. It's called the lessor of two evils. I wasn't voting for a pastor, so his sexual peccadilloes were irrelevant to me, since, after all, the LEFT never cared about Clinton's rapes and adulteries, or Kennedy's adulteries, or FDR's adulteries, etc, so who would have guessed that they cared about Trump? OH, that's right: it's okay for the LEFT and Democrats, but not okay for anyone else. You stinking hypocrite.

Marshal Art said...

This article is far more cautious than racist, Obama-worshiping buffoons like feo are willing to be. Such nincompoops, like Obama himself, are more than eager to attribute to Obama the least bit of positive news as if he actually had anything personally to do with it. Like both the auto bailout, crime rate, the hunt for bin Laden and other issues, things were in the works, foundations were laid and progress was already being made. The best Obama and his sycophants can say is that he added to what was already happening, or more accurately, didn't drop the baton that was handed to him.

OR---feo can provide evidence that directly connects Obama policies with the results for which Obama takes credit. feo says he isn't going to do "my" research for me. The truth is that he can't make those connections, but simply assigns credit to Obama, because feo's a self-loathing white guy who wishes he was a black man (which is two wishes in one---1. He wishes he was black, and 2. He wishes he was a man.).

Marshal Art said...

Note to Glenn and Craig: You're free to respond to feo if you like, though he isn't worth your time. I respond (where I feel like it) because it's my blog and feel some obligation, even to people like him. To Glenn,

Funny, isn't it, that someone like feo has the audacity of dope to speak of morals when he supports, celebrates and enables homosexuality and abortion? Like you, I didn't want Trump, but I certainly couldn't bear the idea of another 4-8 years of Hillary (Barry 2.0) Clinton. The country couldn't take it. Jesus wasn't running, so no matter who is left standing by November, we're ALWAYS choosing the lesser of two imperfect sinners. It can't be helped.

Glenn, I found a Democrat candidate for you. You like to defend molesters and assaultets. Your kind of reprobate Republicans are defending this guy:

“NEW YORK ― Republican lawmakers in Colorado are embracing a Democratic colleague who quit his caucus this week after nearly a dozen women, including a female Democratic state representative, accused him of sexual harassment.
Eleven women ― including a former legislative aide, several lobbyists and fellow state Rep. Faith Winter (D) ― accused state Rep. Steve Lebsock (D) of sexual harassment in November. Winter, a married 37-year-old lawmaker, says Lebsock aggressively came on to her at a bar in 2016.
“I said ‘no’ five times to leaving the bar to go have sex with him,” Winter told HuffPost. “He wouldn’t take no for an answer.”
Lebsock denies the allegations, which are being formally investigated by House leadership. On Tuesday, the day before Colorado’s 2018 legislative session began, he sent his colleagues a bizarre 28-page manifesto defending himself and detailing the sexual history of one of his accusers. He offered an alibi for one of the incidents, in which he allegedly tried to unbutton a woman’s blouse at a bar, claiming that he was playing a “Ms. Pac-Man” arcade game that night and recorded a very high score.”

"All Europe is coming across the ocean, all that part at least that cannot make a living at home, and what should we do with them they increase our taxes, eat our bread, and encumber our streets and not one in 20 is competent to keep himself."

And from a 1916 book:

Wow! Turns out that you and Glenn are part of a whole movement of conservative evangelicals selling out your faith!! Faith in a book never works well. Sick in the head so-called Christians. Facts Marshall is sure to erase.

“In just five years, Americans, particularly evangelicals, became much more accepting of immoral personal behavior by politicians. Below are the percentages who said private immoral conduct did not prevent elected officials from fulfilling their public duties....

Five years later, in October, 2016, P.R.R.I. asked the same question. The percentage of white evangelical Protestants who said that a politician who commits an immoral act in their personal life could still behave ethically shot up from 30 to 72 percent. The percentage saying such a politician could not serve ethically plunged from 63 to 20 percent.

“In a head-spinning reversal,” Robert P. Jones, the C.E.O. of P.R.R.I., wrote in the July 2017 issue of The Atlantic,

‘... white evangelicals went from being the least likely to the most likely group to agree that a candidate’s personal immorality has no bearing on his performance in public office.’

What happened in the interim? The answer is obvious: the advent of Donald Trump.”

Marshal Art said...

While you continue to ignore my request for staying on topic and adding actual substance to any conversation, you are managing to provide me more fodder for showing just how incredibly stupid you truly are.

These "facts" you present ignore some stark realities of the 2016 campaign season. One of which is that despite Trump garnering the highest percentage of support during the primaries, the percentage he didn't get was diluted due to the large field against which he ran. The more people running, the more the vote is split. As candidates drop out, their supporters must choose whom they consider the next best option on varying criteria that differs from one person to the next in terms of personal importance. If two people value experience and degree of conservatism, for example, one may value one trait more than the other as compared to the other person. As more and more candidates drop from the race, these decisions manifest in ways that may only seem superficially similar.

Another consideration is that while I prefer candidates of impeccable character, we found that when it came to the general election, we had no such candidates on the ballot (at least none that had any chance of winning). A lesser of two evils choice was therefore in play.

Third, while years ago the idea that an immoral person couldn't or wouldn't serve in a moral way seemed likely, that doesn't seem to be as widely held belief as before, especially when weighed against the likely alternative. Yet, I believe that if Trump spoke in the same way as Ted Cruz (more polished and intelligent), he would not have won. Indeed, he might not have lasted to the end of the primaries. His brashness had appeal for all those who are sick and tired of the fraud of political correctness. That fraud was a factor that weighed heavily in the last election, and Trump reflected that rejection.

Fourth, does one's immorality actually have any relation to the type of work one is expected to do? This consideration may also have played a role.

And of course, the fact that Trump represented a rejection of the status quo was attractive to so many who are tired of the political games that have disgusted the electorate for decades. He represented a change of a degree to which other politicians (particularly Democrats) only give lip service. Between that and the fact that his major opponent was seen as the far worse of two evils, this notion that evangelicals are "selling out" is just more leftist BS. If researchers asked evangelicals if they would have preferred a Trump who wasn't a low character guy, you'd see a far different result that what you need to believe this research claims to expose.

As to "faith in a book", that's just your low intellect stupidity on display. No one is putting faith in "the Bible", but in God's revelation recorded therein. You reject God in favor of your own immoral preferences. We adhere (as best we can) to the actual truth of Biblical teaching. It is YOU and Dan who are examples of "so-called Christians" because you both reject the teachings of the faith found in "that book".

Got any other stupid things to say? Seems you have a limitless supply.
