The above episode of the Matt Walsh Show provides information both comical and disturbing. This is common with that upon which he reports and present. Some of this has been presented elsewhere and I'm sure it's likely been seen by many. It begins with him playing catch up after not having posted any videos for the last week or two, but he makes some mention of the ludicrous notion of casting a woman, Ellen Page, as a Greek warrior...because gangly, skinny women make great men in Hollywood these days. Most boys...and she does indeed look like a young boy...would have to stop eating to build the physic she has. There have already been tons of memes wherein she...in the role of Sinon...can't open a jar of pickles and things like that. She's posted social media comments berating normal, rational people who refuse to accept her playing a man, because according to her, they're uncomfortable with themselves. She's probably right. It's very likely the people she references are so uncomfortable with themselves that they've likely gone as far as removing body parts and ingested hormones to appear as member of the opposite sex. Welcome to Dan's world!
Walsh then goes on to speak of the "race" for the Maine Dem primary to replace Graham Platner as the Dem nominee to run for the Senate seat now held by Susan Collins (R). Of course, it's not a real primary as those who voted for Platner won't be voting for those seeking to replace him. Similar to the installment of Kamala Harris, who didn't run for or was voted to be the Dem nominee to replace Joe Biden, the Maine Democrat Party will select from these hopeful and to hell with the voters. Of course most alarming to normal, rational people is the inclusion of another person pretending to be of the opposite sex...some guy who calls himself "Ashley", who insists he has XX chromosomes, though test confirm they're XY, and claims he menstruates monthly and bleeds from his backside to prove it. Uh huh. That they give him the time of day rather than a court order to be institutionalized is common for those of the "beloved community". Welcome to Dan's world.
From there, Matt presents a story about another such member of that "community" who has a melt down because a cop insists or referring to him as "he". This one is so wacky, he's likely a high office holder in Dan's world. Welcome to it!
Then we get to hear about Moron Zomdummy who organized a World Cup watch party at Riker's Island for the inmates...because they're New Yorkers, darn it, and they're deserving! As Walsh reminds, imagine the victims of these people and how impressed they no doubt are to learn that those who oppressed them in any number of criminal ways are feted by the mayor, who opposes prisons for such people and too many cops to put them there. But that's not the wildest part, presented also are a few idiot women who actually weep with love for the mayor for doing that. They're just so enamored it brought them to tears. And here's what really chaps my ass: we get to hear from them (two at least, I believe) that he is more Christian than Christians.
Yeah. This Jew hating communist is more Christian than most Christians these stupid women know. This tells me they don't know any Christians. But such a claim is common in Dan's world. Dan's lesbian grannies are more Christian than many Christians Dan knows. He recently cited some muslim dude named Rumi and praised him in a similar fashion, coming just short of saying that. We hear this crap about atheists quite a bit, and even Dan's boy crush, James Talarico said that not long ago. And it's always said about someone who is far, far from it. It's said by morons to highlight how someone is a "nice guy" despite all the very non-Christian behaviors and beliefs of the person.

The world Dan inhabits is a strange, insular, and exclusive. It's not somewhere I'd care to spend much time.
Apparently Sinon is not even in the Odyssey as written by Homer, they needed to stick her in there somewhere and made up a character for her. It's not like a 12 year old boy couldn't kick her ass in a fight or something.
The fact that people freaked out about potentially casting a non-Polynesian actor in the live action Moana, but accept the strange casting choices in the Odyssey makes absolutely no sense.
From what I understand, not having read the Odyssey myself, Sinon is a character who played a small role in the Trojan Horse episode, which I guess is actually part of the Iliad half of the story. Nolan apparently felt a need to be as woke as possible, and what better way than to cast a disordered girl who thinks she's a man to play a warrior who would get his butt kicked by a 12 year old boy. I mean this wisp of a chick playing a Greek warrior is totally believable, right?
There's no way they'd ever replace another race with a white actor. No white guy would ever be acceptable to play a Zulu war chief. There had for a long time been squawking about white actors in roles of indians, asians, (John Wayne as Genghis Khan, Mickey Rooney as Mr. Yunioshi, Marlon Brando as Sakini, Alec Guiness as Koichi Asano) and other races. No way could David Carradine play Kwai Chang Caine today (should've been Bruce Lee...it was his idea anyway).
But hey!...fill roles of white characters with any race or nationality and one is "re-imagining" the story. Woke crap writ large.
Absolutely, can you imagine a white actor playing the Black Panther, or a bunch of whit extras populating Wakanda? It'd be chaos/

It's right there in his name. It's part of the identity of the character. He's a ruler from an African nation. It's part of the storyline. His blackness in the face of the oppression and abuse of Africa and the people therein. It would make zero sense for that to be a white actor. On the other hand, Odysseus' Greekness is not critical to that story.
And in the real world, some men are not as big as other men. Y'all are so fragile and emotionally unstable. I haven't seen the movie yet and don't know what Mr. Elliot Page's character has to do. What I do know is that he's a bigger, stronger and better man than either one of you all. And that's with me knowing practically nothing about Elliot Page. On the other hand I know a great deal about you and how weak and cowardly you all are. Of course, we all know that bullies are almost always the weakest of people.

What the above does, since you likely won't read it, is speak to that which suggests a factual basis against which doesn't. Without being referenced, it indicates a wholly Grecian legend, which in turn speaks to Grecian culture.
"Wakanda" is totally fictional. It was made up by a comic book writer and other than being fictionally located somewhere in Africa, nothing about it references actual cultural facts of any specific tribe on the continent. But YOU think there's some problem making the Black Panther a white guy in a movie! And no, the name references the animal the hero emulates, not his own skin color. Indeed, Kevin "Kasper" Cole, the White Tiger, is the son of a black father and Jewish mother. What do you do with him?
And of course you don't see any need to respect the Grecian culture, pretending it's perfectly fine for characters of a Greek legend to be populated with non-Greek actors, including an asian:

And in the real world, no woman is actually a man, and Ellen Page is no man. Of course YOU'RE no man, either, but that's for another discussion. While it is said that men of centuries ago were on average shorter than the average male height today, Ellen is smaller because she's a woman.

Dan's inability to comprehend sarcasm, hyperbole, or similar is legendary.
It's strange that Dan thinks the the only people in Africa are black. Even stranger that he's decided that the fake country of Wakanda couldn't choose a white guy to be it's fictional leader. What happens if Shuri gets jiggy with a white dude and her half white son becomes Black Panther? Where do you draw the line when it comes to changing fictional characters?
As often happens, Dan makes my point for me. When anchoring fiction in reality or history, it makes sense to respect the reality that anchors the story. As I've noted elsewhere, the big uproar about using non Polynesian actors on Moana is no different than the argument against making Helen of Troy black. Either you stay consistent with the basis of the story, or you don't.
Had Nolan reset the Odyssey (like the Cohens) into a completely different context (space perhaps), no one would have objected. But by anchoring it in ancient Greece/Med culture, he kind of compels himself to stay true to that culture. So, using the Viking ship. looks wrong for the setting.

Not nearly so strange as it is expected and typical...totally in character for Dan who is so lacking in character. It's screamed at us with laughable statements such as this:
"What I do know is that he's a bigger, stronger and better man than either one of you all."
The lie of this manifests in more than one way. On its face, it's wholly and utterly false. The not so hidden nuance is Dan's unjust condescension toward us. No "better man" surgically alters her/his appearance and then pretends those who acknowledge the disorder behind as being those who are uncomfortable with themselves...which is projection of her own disordered guilt.
It's expected that Dan will continue to confuse enabling with legitimate regard, concern and/or compassion for the disordered. "Disordered" is an objective fact. Dan intentionally insults by regarding the fact as an insult, intending to disparage those who won't kowtow to his marxism and anti-Christian narratives. And the irony...Dan loves irony...is that he deepens the conflict by pitting the narrative against the fact, and thus those in need of real help against those who refuse to acknowledge the lies of the narrative...that is, those who are TRULY concerned about the best interests and welfare of the disordered.
Obviously that statement shows a complete lack of understanding of the reality of Ellen Page. She's like 5'1" an weighs like 100 pounds. Much like we find with elite women athletes or teams, she could easily be bested in pretty much any contest of strength or speed by a reasonably average 13-15 year old boy. The data on this reality is clear. The US women's soccer team loses to HS boys teams, and the data regarding outcomes is readily available and comparable. The reality is that she's not a man at all, let alone a "better one. Supporting people in delusion as opposed to reality isn't particularly caring if you ask me.
Of course Dan knows better than to pretend this girl is a man and more "manly" than any of us. It's just him "embracing grace" by insulting us this way. You see, defending the truth...be it God's, nature's or from whomever...makes you a bully and less of a man than all the deviants like Dan and those he defends in their promotion of deviancy and immorality. But that only works in LeftyWorld, not in God's.
Matt Walsh's podcasts are okay for OLD LADIES to listen to.

Don't waste your time trying to reason with Marshal Art. He's just a vile and uneducated sewer rat from the back woods. In case you are not already aware, Art is what general society would call a redneck. Such people lack nuance and cuss at everything. I am sorry that he has verbally assaulted you for merely expressing indifference toward one of his many golden calves, and your attempted sarcastic humor to exaggerate your point. Art has a documented history of acting inappropriately over the tiniest things that bother him. In any event, you would likely destroy him in any debate, as he is just low-hanging fruit on the tree. I wouldn't encourage it, though, as he only babbles on and you would be wasting your time. Art is a stupid person. Just ignore him completely and cut off contact if you had any with him.

Well Arnold, try giving some evidence of your claims. I have found Art to be very intelligent and I haven't found a whole lot from him that I disagree with. So your trolling ad hominem attack only demonstrates your ignorance of what Art actually writes.
Walsh's review of The Odyssey tracks with criticisms I've seen from others I trust, like the Critical Drinker and the Metatron. The latter, who's into history, understands ancient languages pretty well and is totally into armor from various time periods, flipped out over the totally inaccurate armoring of everyone throughout the film. It's like he takes it personally!

His movie takes sometimes end up ignoring that movies are generally a matter of individual preference. I also think that his age blinds him to the cultural effects of movies like Star Wars and how they might not be perfect, but that people still enjoy them because of how revolutionary they were when they came out.
He's not a scholar and his show doesn't show much awareness of scholarly breadth or depth. He's just one celebrity amongst many.
And I can say this with confidence because I have read plenty of technical literature in my lifetime. Stuff that you put you to sleep quickly.

Walsh never claims to be a scholar. And as he said to a political animal in a hearing, where he was asked what his background is to dare question "gender ideology", he reads. What more is a scholar than one who reads and in addition earned some sheepskin as a result? He acquired a following for having thoughtful opinions and analyses of current events...opinions and analyses which strikes a chord due to the truth therein.
But given your having read plenty of technical literature in your lifetime, I challenge you to present an example of that which exposes an opinion of Walsh's as disproved.
Most people of conviction are regarded as "overly dogmatic and close-minded" because they disagree with those who so regard them. The same could be said of you about that in which you are solidly convicted, and I'm sure Dan's troll feels that way. I don't see that as a negative in and of itself. It's a meaningless disparagement without explanation or evidence.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything he's said which I find problematic or straight up wrong, though he can be harsh in his response to those who present that with which he finds fault. As I said, he's insightful and I think, generally speaking to be sure, he nails his points really well. Again, feel free to show where he's gone wrong about something.
